PB
Managing Director
PB is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Supply. He is also a member of the Institute of Engineers in Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States of America. With over 40 years of experience in the petrochemical, refining and offshore oil industries, he is a specialist in the field of chemicals running equipment, special steels and spare parts, and has extensive experience in Materials Management.
Previously the Installation Manager for oil distribution and Head of Ordering for Overseas Procurement in Shell, PB has excellent business knowledge and insights of workings in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Australia, India and Africa. He believes in developing and maintaining a personal bond with his customers in order to better understand them and fulfil their requirements, which is the reason why many of his original customers are still with Tradecom today.
Outside the office, PB has held on to numerous leadership positions since his youth and recently concluded his appointment as a Board Member of the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA). He is also an advocate for the betterment of education and contributes actively to nurturing the growth and development of Gujarati and other Indian languages in Singapore. PB also loves meeting and talking to people, and his memory is impeccable.
Ashvin
Executive Director and Paper
Ashvin graduated from the University of Singapore with a double major in Economics and Political Science. As the Executive Director of Tradecom, he oversees the Paper Division and manages the day-to-day operations of the company.
With more than 30 years of experience in the supply of various products to the Paper and Pulp industry, Ashvin has extensive knowledge on the supply of wastepaper and other raw materials to paper mills as well as the business workings and Government requirements of major markets in Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. He has also built strong relationships with manufacturers of finished paper, especially Newsprint, as well as with end-users including major publishing houses. His vast experience in customer management and paper supplies and capability in managing and controlling the paper supply chain effectively has helped cement Tradecom’s reputation as a leading supplier for India and South East Asia. Additionally, Ashvin has managed agencies for major European manufacturers of dewatering equipment and consumables for paper and pulp machines.
Outside of work, Ashvin dons numerous hats: he actively volunteers in social work, especially advocating for the continued growth of religious and inter-faith harmony. He has served as the Past President of the Singapore Jain Religious Society and the Inter-Religious Organisation, Singapore. He also serves as a mentor to NUS and SMU Students. Family and relationships are also equally important to Ashvin who loves spending time with his family and friends.
Parag
Chemicals & Additives and Procurement Services
Parag joined Tradecom in 1999 and is part of the second generation of family business leaders. Having graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelors in Business Administration and worked in JP Morgan, he has the fundamentals of business management and knowledge on MNC protocols and processes in order to implement improved systems for the company and to better serve Tradecom’s customers.
Parag is in charge of business development for the Chemicals & Additives division and under his leadership, the division has diversified into providing an increased range of value-added services for the chemical and lubricant industries. Parag is also involved in the strategic management and development of the Procurement Services division.
Parag is actively involved in community service for the Singapore Jain Religious Society and charities supporting children-related causes. He loves spending time and creating experiences with his 3 children as well as playing and watching soccer. He is also an avid movie and theatre goer.
Dhaval
Chemicals & Additives and Car Care
Dhaval is a member of the second generation of family business leaders and is involved in the Chemicals & Additives and Car Care divisions. For the former, he is involved in the management of key suppliers and looks after the division’s customers’ end-to-end logistical needs to ensure timely deliveries to them. For the latter, which he heads, he oversees customer and supplier management and is involved in the strategic planning of stock inventories management for fast-moving products.
Prior to joining Tradecom in 2006, Dhaval worked in Citibank and a pharmaceutical products company. He holds a double major in Economics and Finance from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.
Dhaval is a father of 2. He enjoys listening to music and watching sports. He is also a novice runner and jogs on a regular basis. His family credits him with excellent poetry writing.
Eng Boo
Procurement Services
With 37 years of service in a major oil refinery and petrochemical company under his belt, Eng Boo joined Tradecom in 2013 to help setup and drive the company’s Procurement Services division. His understanding and experience with the procurement procedures of MNCs as well as the various categories of products used by our customers has enabled the Procurement Services division to see positive growth in a short span.
Outside of work, Eng Boo is an early riser each morning and is a proud grandfather of 2. He also enjoys stamp and coin collecting and exercises 5-6 times a week.
Avnish
Corporate Services
Avnish is the youngest member of the second generation of family business leaders. Prior to joining Tradecom in 2015, Avnish was a Senior Corporate Communications Manager with the Housing & Development Board (HDB). His background in Finance and Corporate Communications from the Singapore Management University and experience in corporate and communications management give him a broad perspective on marketing and staff management for the company.
Avnish has joined the business with the primary intent to bring it to the next level as it enters the next era of development. He is responsible for corporate brand strategy, driving brand awareness and overseeing corporate services.
Outside the office, Avnish spends a fair bit of his time mentoring youths as well as students and student leaders from the Singapore Management University. He has held on to numerous leadership positions since primary school and represented Singapore at the 2009 APEC Voices of the Future Conference and 2010 ASEAN-China Youth Camp. Avnish also loves reading novels and biographies, photography and spending time in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
Annie
Finance
Annie is one of the most experienced and long-standing staff of Tradecom, where she has served as the company’s Finance Manager for over 30 years. She is well-versed in the management of exchange rates and currency management in order to maximise profits and efficiency for the company and customers. She is also responsible for preparing the company’s accounts and oversees the accounts payable and receivables team. Prior to joining Tradecom, Annie worked for Finesty Trading Pte Ltd.
In her free time, Annie enjoys reading, playing volleyball and cycling. She is also an avid nature lover who doesn’t miss an opportunity to go hiking and mountain climbing. Annie also dons the hat of a doting mother of 2 and loves to create new recipes for her family to try.
